The personalised necklace

Choose the chain, the length and the charms: your necklace takes shape on screen as you compose it.

A necklace that exists in only one copy

A necklace gets noticed. It is the first piece people see, the one you wear every day or bring out for an occasion — and that is exactly why a design seen on ten other people disappoints. Designing yours takes a few minutes: you choose the chain and its length, then place your charms wherever you want them along the links. What you see on screen is the real rendering of your piece, not an illustration.

Nothing is made in advance. Once your necklace is confirmed, it is assembled by hand, charm by charm, in our workshop on the Swiss border — allow 5 to 10 working days of making before shipping. A composed necklace starts at €35 with one charm.

Choosing your length

It is the question we are asked most, and the only one to settle before anything else: the length decides where the necklace falls, and so how the piece looks. A few guidelines, to check in the mirror with a necklace you already wear:

  • Choker — the necklace rests against the base of the neck. Graphic, it is noticed straight away and is worn on its own.
  • Short — it rests on the collarbone. It is the most versatile length, as good with an open collar as with a jumper.
  • Long — it falls onto the neckline. Ideal for showing off a central charm, and for layering with a shorter piece.

Our chains can be made from 36 cm. The available lengths appear under each chain in the configurator, and most come with an extension chain: depending on where you fasten it, it gives a few centimetres of play — enough to cover any hesitation between two lengths.

One charm, or several?

There is no right answer, only two different intentions. A single charm, placed in the centre, makes a discreet necklace you wear without thinking and layer with anything. It shows off the chosen stone, which becomes the subject of the piece.

Several charms spread along the chain build something more personal: a birthstone, an initial, a symbol, in the order that means something to you. Three to five charms are usually enough to tell a story without overloading. Beyond that, the necklace becomes a statement piece, to wear on its own.

The configurator lets you move each charm along the links until you find the balance, and the price updates with every addition: there are no unpleasant surprises at the end.

Which material for your necklace

We work with 18-carat gold plating, 18-carat fine gold gilding, gold filled and stainless steel, combined with natural stones, mother-of-pearl and cultured pearls. This is not a compromise: it is what allows a much wider range of chains and charms, and more accessible prices depending on the collection.

For a necklace worn every day, in the shower as at the gym, stainless steel is the most forgiving. For a piece you take care of, 18-carat gold plating and fine gold gilding give the warmest glow. Gold filled sits in between, with a layer of gold much thicker than ordinary plating. The material of each piece is shown in the summary, below the add-to-bag button.

Frequently asked questions about the personalised necklace

Which necklace length should I choose?

The simplest guide is where the necklace should fall. A choker sits against the base of the neck, a short necklace rests on the collarbone, and a long necklace falls onto the neckline and layers well with a shorter piece. Our chains can be made from 36 cm; the available lengths are shown under each chain in the configurator, and the extension chain leaves a few centimetres of play depending on where you fasten it.

How many charms should I put on a necklace?

A single charm, placed in the centre, makes a discreet piece for everyday wear that layers easily. Three to five charms spread along the chain make a bolder necklace that stands on its own. There is no set maximum: the configurator lets you try, and the price follows each addition.

Can I layer several necklaces?

Yes — that is the whole point of designing your own: two different lengths layer without tangling if the gap is wide enough. A very busy short piece with a longer, simple one works better than two equally busy necklaces.

Which material for a necklace worn every day?

Stainless steel is the most forgiving: it is not bothered by water or sweat, and it is also the most affordable. 18-carat gold plating and fine gold gilding have the warmest glow and are best kept for more careful wear. Gold filled sits in between, with a layer of gold much thicker than standard plating.

Does gold plating tarnish?

It develops a patina over time, all the faster in contact with perfume, creams, chlorine and sweat. Taken off before showering, swimming and exercising, then stored in its pouch, a gold-plated necklace keeps its shine for years.

Can I have my necklace altered after purchase?

Write to us: depending on the change requested, a rework in the workshop is often possible. Every creation is also covered for 2 years against manufacturing defects.
